Divan şiirinde hastalık ve tedavi

Abstract

Divan şiiri, öyle sanıldığı gibi, gündelik hayattan, yaşanan olaylardan ve müşahede edilen dünyadan yararlanmayan bir şiir değildir. Bununla birlikte, tümüyle geçici hayatın, hal ve durumun tasvirinden ibaret bir şiir de değildir. Aksine bu şiirin söz ve mânâ sanatlarıyla incelmiş ve gelişmiş özel bir dili vardır. Bu dilin imkanları ölçüsünde hayata ve geçici güzelliklere yer verir. Bu makalede, Divan şiirinin poetik yapısı tahlil edilmemektedir; ancak bu yapı, Osmanlı toplumundaki hastalık telakkisi ve tedavi şekilleriyle ilişkilendirilerek ele alınmaktadır. Böylece şairlerin hastalık kavramına ve uygulanan tedavi yöntemlerine ve kullanılan ilaçlara yükledikleri anlam tartışma konusu edilmektedir.

Divan poetry, contrary to what is supposed, is not something which does not benefit from daily life, current events and what is observed in the real world. However, it is not a poetry which completely depends on description of transitory life, situations and occasions. This poetry has a special language sophisticated and developed with arts of word and meaning. It gives place to life and transitory beauties within the limits of this language. The aim of this article is not to analyze the poetic structure of Divan poetry, but its structure is dealt with in association with the perception of disease and ways of therapy in Ottoman society. Thus, what is discussed here is the meaning ascribed by poets to disease, ways of treatment and remedies employed.
