Oktay Akbal'ın Tedirgin adlı öyküsünde cümleler arası anlam ilişkileri

Abstract

1960’lara kadar dilbilimsel araştırmalar cümle düzeyi ile sınırlı kalmıştır. Fakat dilin işleyişini açıklamada cümlenin yetersizliğini savunan bazı araştırmacılar dilbilimsel araştırmaların cümleyi aşan bir yapı içinde, metin düzeyinde yapılması gerektiğini öne sürmüşlerdir. Bu nedenle 1960’lardan sonraki genel eğilim cümle düzeyini aşan dilin daha büyük birimleri üzerinde çalışma yönünde olmuştur. Metin üzerinde çalışan araştırmacılar o tarihten başlayarak birbirinden değişik yöntemler geliştirmişler, kuramsal yaklaşımlar metne yeni açılardan bakılabileceğini göstermiştir. Metne değişik bakış açılarından biri de “cümleden büyük birlikler” adlı çalışmalardır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, cümleden büyük birlikler adlı çalışmaların yöntemlerini kullanarak bir metnin anlamsal dünyasını çözümlemektir. Bu amaçla Oktay Akbal’ın “Tedirgin” adlı öyküsü seçilmiş ve öyküyü oluşturan cümleler arası anlam bağları ortaya konmuştur. Anlamsal bağların ortaya konmasıyla birlikte hem metnin genel işleyişi görülmüş hem derinlere gömülmüş asıl anlamlar ortaya çıkmış hem de metni oluşturan parçaların nasıl bir dilsel örgü oluşturdukları göz önüne serilmiştir. Ayrıca anlamsal bağlantıyı sağlayan unsurlardan biri olan mekân bağının öykü kahramanının psikolojisini açıklamada önemli rol oynadığı görülmüştür.

Linguistic studies stayed limited to the sentence level till 1960s. But some researchers who asserted that the sentence was insufficient to explain function of the language suggested that linguistic researches must be carried out within a structure beyond a sentence, at the level of text. Therefore the general inclination after 1960s was towards working on the greater units of the language beyond the sentence level. The researchers working on the text has developed a variety of methods since that time, and the hypothetical approaches has proved that the text can be looked at from new points of view. One of these points of view to the text is the studies named “major unit than sentence”. The purpose of this study is to analyze the semantic world of a text, using the methods of the studies named “major unit than sentence”. With this aim, Oktay Akbal’s narrative named “TEDİRGİN” was nominated and the semantic relations between the sentences comprising the narrative were set forth. Along with setting forth the semantic relations, either the general function of the text was understood or the essential meanings hidden far away into dept were revealed or how the parts forming the text form a linguistic texture were shown. Moreover, it was shown how such an important role the space relation plays in explaining the psychology of the fiction character which is one of the elements ensuring semantic relation.
