Ahmed Midhat’ın “Müdâfa‘a 3: Hıristiyanlığın mâzîsi, hâli, istikbâli” adlı eserinin dinler tarihi açısından değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Ahmed Midhat’ın Müdâfa‘a serisinin üçüncü cildi olan Hıristiyanlığın Mâzisi, Hâli, İstikbâli adlı eseri incelenmektedir. Ahmed Midhat bu eserini Fransız yazar Chateaubriand’ın (Şatobriyan), “İnsanlığın geleceğini Hıristiyanlıkta ve onun Katolik mezhebinden başka yerde bulamam” söylemi üzerine kaleme almıştır. Eser, Chateaubriand’ın iddialarına karşı Hıristiyan kelamcılarının kıyaslarını görmek açısından Hıristiyan kutsal kitabı ve Hıristiyanların muteber saydıkları kaynaklar kullanılarak oluşturulmuştur. Çalışma giriş ve iki bölümden teşekkül etmiştir. Birinci bölümde reddiye literatürü ve Ahmed Midhat’ın alana katkıları üzerinde durulmuştur. İkincibölümde Hıristiyan akidesinin temel inanç konuları, Chateaubriand’ın Hıristiyanlıkta bulunduğunu iddia ettiği kanunlar ve Ahmed Midhat’ın eleştirileri ile karşılaştırmaları yer almaktadır.

In this study, the work titled Hıristiyanlığın Mâzisi, Hâli, İstikbâli (The Past, Present, and Future of Christianity) by Ahmed Midhat, which is the third volume of the Müdâfa‘a series and based on the statement of French writer Chateaubriand, "I cannot find the future of humanity anywhere but in Christianity and its Catholic sect." is examined. The work is approached by utilizing the Christian holy book and the sources considered authoritative by Christians, due to the need to observe the comparisons of Christian theologians against Chateaubriand's claims. Our study consists of an introduction and two other sections. The first section focuses on the literature of refutation and Ahmed Midhat's contributions to the field. The second section covers the fundamental beliefs of the Christian faith, the laws claimed to exist in Christianity by Chateaubriand, and Ahmed Midhat's criticisms and comparisons.
